Sensus would like to announce that we have been purchased by Synergy Flavors which is a subsidiary of the Carbery Group. The combination of the two companies will be very complimentary, and we look forward to working together.

Sensus scientist, Youngmok Kim, PhD, will be presenting results of research conducted at Sensus at the 242nd National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in Denver, Colorado. The title of his talk is "Antioxidant Polyphenolics In Ready To Drink Tea: How Are They Really Measured?". The conference goes from August 28th until September 1rd, with Dr. Kim's presentation on Tuesday, August 30th at 10:30am at the Colorado Convention Center, room 506. Hope to see you there!

Researchers at Sensus have had a strong publishing year. So far there have been 4 peer reviewed publications along with a book chapter and editing of a book.

Sensus is excited to welcome three new employees. Carly Adams is the Sensus Summer Intern from Ohio State University who will be learning QC, product development, and conduct a research project. She will have a very full summer but she is ready for the challenge. Tess Jones has joined Sensus as a QC Technologist. She is a graduate from Ohio State University with QC experience in her previous position. Lastly, Emily Birkel is a new Beverage Technolist. She has both a BS and MS from Ohio State University.

Sensus is proud to announce that Angela Lantman has joined Sensus. Angela graduated from the University of Cincinnati and has over 11 years experience in the food industry. We welcome Angela and look forward to working with her.

Sensus is proud to announce a new position which has been filled by Christian Sweeney. Christian received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Rose-Hulman and a master's degree from Ohio State in food science. We look forward to working with him.

Sensus is announcing a the completion of a new automated blending facility located in the recent expansion. This facility will comprise multiple tanks along with state of art controls in order to accomodate customer needs.

Sensus recently participated in the annual IFT National Meeting and Expo. At our booth (#4636), various finished products were demonstarted which showcased our ingredients and types of applications. In addition, a purple corn puff was available which is the result of a joint grant project with Sensus, Wyandot Snacks, and OSU.

Sensus, LLC Invites IFT10 Attendees to “Smell the Difference” at Unique Aroma Center in Booth #4636. The aroma center is a display and demonstration of Sensus’ leading edge technology in extracting the freshest, highest quality aroma fractions of horticultural products.

Sensus would like to announce and congratulate Jenna Wlotzko on winning the Agriculture/Environmental Science division of The Ohio State University Denman Undergraduate Research Forum. Jenna presented research conducted during her 2009 internship at Sensus while being mentored by researcher Dr. Kevin L. Goodner. Her research on anthocyanins as colorants for ready-to-drink beverages explored the efficacy of using purple corn, hibiscus, blueberry, red cabbage, and purple potato.
